About the Author

Brigadier Jasbir Singh SM

Brigadier Jasbir Singh, SM was a retired Indian Army officer from the Kumaon Regiment. He was wounded during operations behind enemy lines in East Pakistan (1971 war) and twice decorated for gallantry during operations. After having served for 34 years in the Army, he led a retired life in the hills of Ranikhet and spent his time writing on military subjects and painting. He authored seven books and numerous articles. His father, Brigadier Balbir Singh, MC was also from the Kumaon Regiment who had escaped from a Japanese POW Camp in Singapore during World War II, along with Parab and Pritam as mentioned in this book. Brigadier Jasbir Singh passed away in April 2022.
